The roller cross guide consists of two rails with a type groove, retainer, and cylinder roller. The cylinder rollers, which range crosswise each other, shuttle along a type of ground groove. It can take the load from all directions with high accuracy and smooth linear motion.

Accuracy of equipped mounting surface
The structure of the equipped fixed surface of the roller cross guide is shown separately in Fig-5;
The accuracy of the equipped mounting surface will influence the running accuracy and performance. If a higher running accuracy is needed, the equipped mounting surface's accuracy will be relatively enhanced.A surface: the accuracy will directly impact the running accuracy.B & C surface:plane: impact on preload.Verticality: the verticality against A surface impacts assembly rigidity in the direction of preload.So, we suggest that we try to improve the assembled surface accuracy. The accuracy value is close to the parallelism value.
Preload method
The preload is the adjustable bolt. The dimensions & specifications of the bolt are the same as the fixed bolt. The bolt center is half of the rail height.
The value of preload depends on different machines and equipment. Overloading will reduce the life of the guide and damage the raceway. During use, the cylinder roller is easy to deflect, so it is self-locked. Therefore usually no-preload and lower preload is recommended. If there is a higher accuracy and rigidity requirement, using the fixed plane, as shown in diagram 7, or a wedge block, as shown in diagram 8, to preload is recommended.
The roller cross guide can run under high temperatures, but it is less than 100℃.
The speed of the roller cross guide is less than 30m/min.
Lubrication:
The primary function of lubrication is to eliminate friction and tear to avoid enormous heat, which will damage the inner structure and influence motion function. When the roller cross guide is moving at high speed (v>=15m/min), N32 lubrication oil is recommended(refer to GB443-89). When the temperature is 40℃, the oil's viscosity is 28.8-35.2mm²/s.The roller cross guide should be lubricated periodically or connected with an oil hose. Li grease(GB7324-94 2#)is recommended if the roller cross guide is running at low speed(v<15m/min).
