Product Characteristics
The housing is made of high-quality FG-260 cast iron.
The gearbox is equipped with well-designed heat dissipating fins and a suitable fan to fully dissipate the generated heat.
The entire design is based on BS 721:1963, with a precision level of A.
The gearbox is designed to be interchangeable with standard gearboxes.
The worm shaft is made of high-quality surface-hardened steel, which is very precise and ground to provide better performance.
The worm wheel is made of extremely high-quality phosphor bronze, and has a large cross-section (rigidly combined with the hub).
The worm shaft and worm wheel shaft are both mounted on high-quality taper roller/angular contact bearings to withstand axial thrust and suspended loads.
At full load and a temperature limit of 90 degrees Celsius, the minimum gear life of all gearboxes is 20,000 hours. The gearbox does not require any maintenance, only check the oil level every two weeks.
The transmission ratio of all worm gearboxes is from 5:1 to 70:1.
Structure of Worm Reducer
The worm reducer is composed of the following parts:
Worm gear
Worm wheel
Bearing
Housing
Output shaft
Seal
Oil seal
Input shaft
The worm gear reduces the speed of the input shaft, transmitting power to the output shaft through the worm wheel and bearing. The housing protects the internal components. The seal and oil seal prevent oil leakage from the gearbox.
Choosing the Appropriate Worm Gearbox
The selection of the gearbox is completed by comparing the actual transmission load with the catalog rated value. However, the actual load conditions may vary or fluctuate depending on the application type, and to handle the same, a use factor must be considered to achieve equivalent load or design power. Therefore, equivalent load = actual load x use factor mechanical rated value and service factor mechanical rated value to measure capacity in terms of life and/or strength, assuming continuous operation for 10 hours per day under uniform load conditions. If the equipment operates more than 10 hours per day, it is necessary to select the mechanical service factor based on the type of prime mover, the number of operating hours per day, and the application type and its load characteristics connected to the equipment, to ensure appropriate gear life catalog rated value allows for instantaneous 100% overload during starting, braking, or running, up to a maximum of 10 times per day. Therefore, the catalog rated value of the selected equipment should be at least equal to or greater than half of the maximum overload reached during its operation period. The gearbox's service life can be determined by comparing the actual transmission load with the catalog rated value through the following steps:
Calculate the required ratio.
Calculate the design power based on the load type, operating time, and service factor.
Calculate the output torque.
Select the device based on the data.
