Worm Gear Reducer Lubrication

The gears and bearings of the gearbox are lubricated by the splashed lubricant from the oil sump. The modular series of Worm Gear Reducers is equipped with an oil dipstick-oil filter and breather. Apart from occasional topping up of the recommended grade of lubricating oil, no special care is required. The input and output shafts are fitted with chloroprene rubber lip seals. Forced lubrication is required for extremely low speeds below 50 rpm. The reducer is not supplied with lubricating oil and must be filled with the correct amount of oil. Care must be taken not to overfill the gearbox, as excessive oil can cause agitation, resulting in overheating and leakage.
