Installation of Worm Gearbox
When connecting the input shaft directly to the motor, a flexible coupling is preferred; a gear coupling is preferred for connecting the output shaft to the driven machine.
Install on a stable base with good ventilation; consider accessibility for oil filling/draining.
The input shaft of the gearbox and the motor shaft should be aligned within the tolerance range.
After installation, manually rotate the input shaft to check for any locking.
Perform a no-load running test before normal operation; any abnormalities should be corrected before normal operation.
Lubrication and Maintenance of Worm Gearbox
To extend the life of the gearbox, the first oil change should be performed after 500 hours of operation; oil changes should be performed every 2500 hours of operation thereafter. Regardless, it is recommended to check oil level and condition regularly before the next oil change.
Only use compatible oil specifications and do not mix oils of different specifications.
Before adding new oil, flush and drain the gearbox.
If the temperature rises above 80 degrees Celsius or unusual noise occurs, stop the gearbox immediately for inspection. Restart only after the problem is identified and cleared.
