When to Replace Agricultural Belt?

1. Obvious signs of wear and tear: Check the surface of the conveyor belt for cracks, fraying, thinning, rubber block shedding, or exposed fabric layer. These signs indicate that the conveyor belt is severely worn, and its strength and stability have greatly decreased, it should be replaced in time.
2. Looseness: A normal conveyor belt should run in an appropriate tension state. If the conveyor belt is too loose and sags more than the specified value when pressed by hand, or after continuous use for a period of time, the belt length cannot maintain the original tension, which means the belt has lost elasticity and tension and needs to be replaced.
3. Slippage: When working with agricultural machinery, if a sharp whistling sound is heard at the conveyor belt or the machine power output is insufficient and the speed drops, this may be caused by conveyor belt slippage. Not only should the tension be checked, but also the friction between the belt and the pulley should be checked. If necessary, the belt needs to be replaced.
4. Heat: A normally working conveyor belt will have a slight temperature rise, but if it feels very hot or even hot to the touch, it may be due to the conveyor belt being overly fatigued, the internal structure being damaged, or the tension being too tight, causing heat to accumulate. This situation can easily accelerate the aging and damage of the conveyor belt, and it should be stopped immediately for inspection and replacement.
5. Odd smell or burn marks: Smelling the odor of burnt rubber on the conveyor belt or seeing melting and burn marks on the belt means that the belt is in a serious overload state, and partial or complete damage may have occurred, which must be replaced immediately.
6. Irregular vibration or noise: When the conveyor belt fails or is about to fail, sometimes additional vibration or noise may occur during machine operation. This is because the transmission is not stable, and it should be stopped for inspection, find the cause and replace the problematic conveyor belt in time.

How to Choose the Right Agricultural Belt?

1. Belt type: V-belt (also known as a triangular belt) is commonly used in agricultural machinery, with different models including A, B, C, D, etc. The selection should be consistent with the model of the original conveyor belt or refer to the specifications provided by the agricultural machinery manufacturer.
2. Length: Measure or calculate the exact length of the required conveyor belt according to the agricultural machinery manual to ensure that the new belt can be installed smoothly and maintain proper tension.
3. Horsepower/power requirements: The conveyor belt needs to bear the engine output power of the agricultural machinery, so it is necessary to ensure that the rated power of the new belt is greater than or equal to the power requirement of the transmission system.
4. Material: Conveyor belts made of high-quality rubber blends have better wear resistance, heat resistance, oil resistance, and aging resistance.
5. Belt pulley groove size: The conveyor belt must be compatible with the groove width and depth of the belt pulley to ensure good engagement, avoid slipping, or premature wear.
