Zero-degree Spiral Bevel Gear

The zero-degree spiral bevel gear refers to the spiral bevel gear with the midpoint spiral angle of zero degrees. It has curved teeth that follow the same direction as the straight bevel gear. This gear is machined on the standard spiral bevel gear (circular-arc bevel gear), whose midpoint spiral angle is not zero degrees. Therefore, like ordinary spiral bevel gear, it can have local (point) contact teeth surface. This is where the zero-degree spiral bevel gear is superior to the general straight bevel gear. The zero-degree spiral bevel gear produces the same bearing load as the straight bevel gear. Therefore, when their supports are the same, these two types of gear transmission pairs are interchangeable.
