SF QD Type Bushings

SF QD Type BushingsType SF QD bushings are designed for use on sprockets and pulleys with tapered ends. The design allows for interchangeable shafts of various sizes. They are also easy to install. Bushings come with lock washers and bolts, SF 2-1/4" bushings can be used on any "SF" sprocket hub. While you can use lubricant during installation, it is not necessary to use it on the bolts.SF QD-style bushings feature a tapered design for excellent retention. They are available in metric and common hole sizes and include set screws or counterweights for mounting. The dual adjustment tensioner allows full idler rotation due to the base's long slot. A tapered fit holds the bushing in place. When installing dual adjustable tensioners, follow the drive type's installation guide.When installing the MPB bushing, place the threaded holes on the pulley as far as possible from the bushing's kerf. To ensure proper wedging action, be sure to use loose-threaded cap screws with lock washers on the threads. Once installed, you can remove the mating hub by loosening the cap screw and turning it counterclockwise.

Standard Mounting

1. Make sure the cone on the bushing and the inside of the driven product is clean and free of oil or any anti-seize lubricant.2. Slide QD bushing on a shaft, flange end first, then assemble key.3. Place the QD bushing on the shaft. Use only a standard Allen key to tighten the set screw on the key (hand-tight). Don't push too hard.4. Slide the large end of the sprocket or other part taper hole into place over the cone, aligning the drilled bolt holes on the sprocket or other part with the taper holes in the bushing flange. Then assemble the pull-up bolt and lock washer.5. Tighten the pull-up bolts alternately and evenly to the tightening levels shown in the torque table below. Do not use extensions on wrench handles. There should now be a gap between the face of the sprocket or other part hub and the flange of the QD bushing to ensure a satisfactory tapered grip and press fit. NOTE: This gap must not be closed.

Dismounting
