Sun Gear

The sun gear is located in the center of the planetary gearbox and is usually connected to the input shaft or fixed to the housing as a stationary component.

Planet Gears

The planet gears rotate around the sun gear and are supported by and maintain their relative positions through the planet carrier. Each planet gear engages with the sun gear and the ring gear/annulus simultaneously, and when power is input, they together bear and distribute the load.

Torque Transmission

In this way, the torque input to the sun gear is amplified and evenly distributed to the planet carrier on the output end through the planet gears.

Speed Conversion and Torque Amplification
