Product Features
The housing is made of high-quality FG-260 C.I.
The gearbox is equipped with well-designed heat dissipation fins and a suitable fan to efficiently dissipate heat.
The entire design is based on BS 721:1963 with precision grade A.
The gearbox is designed to be interchangeable with standard gearboxes.
The worm shaft is made of high-quality surface-hardened steel for precise generation and grinding, resulting in improved performance.
The worm wheel is made of high-quality phosphor bronze, with a large cross-section for enhanced rigidity.
Both the worm shaft and worm wheel shaft are mounted on high-quality tapered roller/angular contact bearings to withstand axial thrust and radial loads.
With a maximum temperature limit of 90??C under full load, all gearboxes have a minimum gear life of 20,000 hours. No maintenance is required, only checking the oil level every two weeks.
All worm gearboxes have a gear ratio ranging from 5:1 to 70:1.

Composition of Worm Reducer
The worm reducer consists of the following components:
Worm shaft: Generates rotational motion
Worm wheel: Engages with the worm shaft to transmit motion
Housing: Encloses and protects the internal components
Heat dissipation fins and fan: Ensure efficient heat dissipation
Bearings: Support the worm shaft and worm wheel shaft
Choosing the Right Worm Gearbox
The selection of a worm gearbox is based on comparing the actual transmission load with the catalog rated values. However, the actual load conditions may vary or fluctuate depending on the application type, and equivalent loads or design powers must be considered to handle the same problem. Therefore, the equivalent load = actual load x service factor mechanical rated value and service factor mechanical rated value is used to measure the capacity in terms of life and/or strength, assuming 10 hours of continuous operation under uniform load conditions each day. If the equipment operates for more than 10 hours per day, the mechanical service factor should be selected based on the type of prime mover, the number of hours of operation per day, and the application type and its load characteristics connected to the equipment to ensure proper gear life. The catalog rated value of the selected equipment should be at least equal to or greater than half of the maximum overload reached during its operation. The lifespan of the gearbox can be determined by comparing the actual transmission load with the catalog rated values using the following steps:
Calculate the required ratio.
Calculate the design power based on load type, working time, and service factor.
Calculate the output torque.
Select the appropriate device based on the data.
Common Issues and Solutions
Problem
Cause
Solution
Overheating of gearbox
Excessive load or insufficient lubrication
Reduce load or improve lubrication
Gearbox noise
Misalignment or worn gears
Ensure proper alignment and replace worn gears
Vibration
Imbalance or misalignment
Correct balance or alignment issues
Oil leakage
Seal damage or loose fasteners
Replace damaged seals and tighten fasteners
Gearbox not working
Electrical or mechanical failure
Check electrical connections and repair mechanical components
Installation Considerations
It is essential to securely install the gearbox to minimize the impact of vibrations or heavy loads. Make sure to check for alignment and use dowel pins to properly position the gears, preferably in a diagonal direction. The use of flexible couplings (gear coupling flange with rubber bushing/tire couplings) is crucial in enhancing the performance of the gearbox. The couplings should be aligned to avoid angular and eccentric misalignment.
