Installation:
The performance of the worm reducer depends on correct installation, lubrication, and maintenance. There are two main installation methods:
Shaft Mounting:
Ensure that the shaft and the gearbox unit hole are clean and free of burrs. Apply a sufficient amount of lubricating oil to the shaft and hole to aid assembly and prevent friction corrosion. Slide the unit onto the drive shaft, and secure with a key.
Foot Mounting:
Mount the device securely on a sturdy structure. Install the output extended shaft if required. The connection between shafts should use an elastic coupling, ensuring that the shaft's deviation is within the coupling's tolerance. When installing pulleys or sprockets on two shafts, place them as close to the gearbox as possible. Do not strike the shaft when installing or removing transmission components to avoid damaging the bearings.
Lubrication and Maintenance:
Lubrication:
Oil change: Gearboxes with sizes 870 and 871 are lubricated for life, except when operating in explosive environments. Gearboxes of all other sizes require oil changes according to the working temperature of the equipment. Half of the oil should be replaced in new gearboxes after 1000 hours of operation, one year, or when the specified service life is reached.
Maintenance:
Regularly inspect for leaks, wear, and damage
Tighten loose bolts and screws
Ensure proper alignment
Keep the gearbox clean and free of debris
Follow the manufacturer's guidelines for maintenance intervals
