How to select the correct sprocket for my chain?

When should I replace a sprocket?

Replace when tooth tips become hooked, worn thin, or chain jumps. Running a worn sprocket will destroy a new chain quickly.

Use ISO VG 150–220 oil for general applications. Grease is not recommended for high-speed drives.

Narrow wedge (SPB/SPC) transmits 1.5–3x more power in the same space, ideal for compact drives.

Backlash is free movement between teeth. Use twin pinion preload or specify precision ground gears (DIN 5).

Higher ratio (e.g., 4.10:1) gives better torque for towing; lower ratio (3.31:1) saves fuel for highway.

Measure from tractor PTO stub to implement input with both hitched and implement on ground; add 2-3 inches for clearance.

QD uses a split flange and bolts; taper lock uses a single clamping bolt. Both are interchangeable for most sizes.

For high misalignment use jaw or gear coupling. For high precision use disc coupling. For shock absorption use grid coupling.

EP 80W-90 or 85W-140 gear oil. Change every 500–1000 hours.

Force = Pressure × Piston area. Example: 4" bore at 2500 psi = 31,400 lbs.

List all air tools and their CFM consumption at 90 PSI. Add 20% margin. Our engineers can calculate for free.

Oil-sealed gives deeper vacuum (10⁻³ mbar) but needs oil changes. Dry scroll is clean, maintenance‑free, good to 10⁻² mbar.

Above 3% LEL, the RTO can run with zero auxiliary fuel.
