The performance of the gearbox depends on correct installation, lubrication, and maintenance. Shaft mounting requires ensuring that the shaft and gearbox hole are clean and free of burrs. Apply a sufficient amount of lubricating oil to the shaft and hole to aid assembly and prevent frictional corrosion. Slide the unit onto the driving shaft and install the side key. Foot mounting requires securing the device to a sturdy structure. Install the output extension shaft as needed. The connection between shafts should use elastic couplings, and ensure that the deviation of the shaft is within the range that the coupling can bear. When installing pulleys or sprockets on two shafts, they should be installed as close to the gearbox as possible. When installing or removing transmission parts, do not hit the shaft, or it will damage the bearings. Please see the image below for a diagram of shaft-mounted installation:

The 870 and 871 gearbox sizes are lubricated for life, but this does not apply to situations where they operate in explosive environments. All other gearbox sizes require the oil to be changed according to the equipment's working temperature. New gearboxes should have half of the oil changed after 1000 hours of operation or one year or when the specified service life expires. Please see the image below for maintenance information:

| Issue | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Excessive noise | Worn gear teeth or bearings | Replace worn parts |
| Overheating | Insufficient lubrication or worn parts | Check and add lubrication, replace worn parts if necessary |
| Oil leaks | Damaged or worn oil seals | Replace damaged or worn oil seals |
| Shaft misalignment | Improper installation or worn couplings | Reinstall correctly or replace worn couplings |
| Slow speed | Worn gears or insufficient power supply | Replace worn gears, check and increase power supply if necessary |
| Damage to gearbox housing | Excessive force or impact | Handle with care, avoid excessive force or impact |
| Abnormal vibration | Loose parts or worn bearings | Tighten loose parts or replace worn bearings |
| Output shaft rotation failure | Loose parts or worn bearings | Tighten loose parts or replace worn bearings |
